With the aim of offering more and more direct operations, Avianca has requested authorization from the Colombian Civil Aeronautics Authority to operate four new routes, two international and two domestic.

According to the application, the airline plans to offer flights on the Medellín-El Salvador-Medellín, Bogotá-Tulum-Bogotá, Bogotá-Arauca-Bogotá and Bogotá-Quibdó-Bogotá routes, which would operate 7 weekly frequencies each on Airbus A319, A320 or A320neo aircraft.
Avianca currently operates 140 routes, with more than 75 destinations in 25 countries in the Americas and Europe.
