Avianca launches two new international routes: Medellin-Sao Paulo and Cartagena-Guayaquil
As part of its expansion plan, Avianca launched on Monday two new international routes that will strengthen Colombia’s connectivity: Medellin-Sao Paulo, Cartagena-Guayaquil.
As of December 3, 2024, the airline will offer three weekly flights between Medellin and Sao Paulo, while as of December 17 it will start service between Cartagena and Guayaquil, which will operate twice a week.

Both routes will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft, with a capacity of 180 passengers, offering 540 seats per week on the Medellin-Sao Paulo route and more than 360 seats per week on the Cartagena-Guayaquil route.
“Avianca has been connecting these regions with Colombia and the rest of the world for decades, opening new doors for more tourists to visit our country. That is why we are proud to be providing new connectivity and greater access to our customers with more direct destinations. With the entry into operation of these two new routes, our customers will have an offer of 10 direct destinations from Cartagena, and 28 non-stop destinations from Medellin,” said David Aleman, Avianca’s Sales Director for Colombia and South America.
