Copa Airlines to resume flights to Porto Alegre, Brazil in December
Panama’s Copa Airlines will resume flights to Porto Alegre (Brazil) from December 18, 2024, after suspending service in May after unprecedented flooding in the state of Rio Grande do Sul forced the airport to close indefinitely.
The airline will offer four weekly frequencies that will be operated in Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft with capacity for 174 passengers: 12 in Business Class and 162 in Economy, which includes 24 Economy Extra seats.

Flights will depart from Panama City on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 15:06, arriving in Porto Alegre at 00:20 the following day (local time). From the capital of Rio Grande do Sul will take off on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 01:25, landing in Tocumen at 06:38 (local time).
In this way, Porto Alegre will be added to the 6 destinations that Copa currently operates in Brazil: Manaos, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Florianópolis.
