Irish low-cost airline Ryanair reported Tuesday that it carried 20.5 million passengers during August, up 8% from the same month in 2023.
The company said in a statement that this figure represents a new monthly record, in line with forecasts for a summer in which it is operating its most extensive flight schedule following the opening of 200 new routes and five new bases.

Ryanair also noted that its occupancy factor remained at 96% in the eighth month of the year.
In total, the airline operated 111,800 flights during the past month.
Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary has indicated that he expects passenger traffic to grow by around 8% during the current fiscal year, which ends March 31, to between 198 million and 200 million.
