Spanish airline Volotea announced Wednesday that it will launch a new route connecting Barcelona-El Prat with Bordeaux-Mérignac (France) starting February 20, 2025, with two weekly flights (Thursday and Sunday).
This new route will be the eleventh operated by the airline from Barcelona, where it began operations in 2020 and has carried more than 740,000 passengers since then.

“We are pleased to expand our complementary international network from Barcelona with the addition of this new route to Bordeaux, our sixth connection between Barcelona and France. This connection is excellent news as it allows us to increase the number of direct routes to other European cities, providing more travel options for the people of Barcelona while making it easier for the citizens of Bordeaux to visit and discover the Catalan capital,” said Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s Chief Strategy Officer.
Bordeaux, one of the airline’s 10 bases in France, is also known for its wine tradition and boasts the prestigious museum, La Cité du Vin, which Volotea has been sponsoring for the past two years.
