Avianca has been nominated in the APEX/IFSA awards in the Best Inflight Food or Beverage category, which highlights the best in-flight menus.
These awards are presented by the International Flight Services Association (IFSA) to the best in-flight experiences offered by airlines around the world.
“With this nomination for the APEX/IFSA awards, we recognize exceptional in-flight service with attention to every detail, hand in hand with important partners such as Alvaro Clavijo, one of the best culinary talents globally and chef of El Chato, ranked 25th in the world according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, to highlight culinary traditions and haute cuisine techniques,” said Katherine Stradaioli, vice president of Avianca’s Costumer Delivery.

Gastronomy is a key element in Avianca’s Business Class service and, for this reason, the menus available on flights from Bogota to Europe and some routes in the Americas have been created by chef Alvaro Clavijo, with a wide selection of wines from various countries around the world that further enhance the experience.
“It is very gratifying to know that this gastronomic proposal has been recognized at this level, because in addition to demonstrating that we have created a memorable culinary experience, with this nomination we can confirm that our commitment to local and high quality ingredients has been valued by both Avianca customers and industry experts,” said Álvaro Clavijo.
