Flybondi incorporates two new aircraft to increase capacity for the summer season
Flybondi announced this Friday that it will increase its operating capacity by 13% with the incorporation of 2 aircraft, reinforcing its flight offer for the summer season and adding frequencies to its current network. It does not rule out adding new destinations.
The new aircraft are contracted under a format called wet lease or ACMI, which implies that the aircraft is leased with foreign crew, maintenance service and insurance.
This is a modality widely used internationally, especially in Europe, where it has been implemented for more than 25 years to meet the demand of airlines during high seasons.

The Spanish-registered aircraft, which will be arriving in Argentina shortly, are Boeing 737-800 NG and will be operational from November 2024 to March 2025. The low cost would resume this model for the 2025/2026 summer season.
This step in the Argentine airline industry was possible thanks to the reform of the Aeronautical Code, which allows foreign personnel to perform their functions in airline services, as well as the use of foreign-registered aircraft. Flybondi becomes the first airline to implement ACMI agreements in the country.
“Today we are facing a historic event for the airline industry, for Argentina and for us: we are incorporating a modality that is used all over the world and that allows us to expand our operating capacity. The addition of these two aircraft will have an impact on greater connectivity, a proposal to increase the number of flights and also create new opportunities for development and direct and indirect employment”, commented Mauricio Sana, Flybondi’s CEO. He added: “The ACMI is a solution in a context where there is a shortage of both aircraft and pilots”.
