GOL resumes nonstop flights between Brasilia and Cancun

GOL resumed this Tuesday its services between Brasilia and Cancun, the only non-stop service connecting Brazil with the Mexican Caribbean.

The route, which has a duration of more than 7 hours, will operate twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday) on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. As of June 26, a new frequency will be added on Thursdays.

“The return to Cancun, an internationally renowned destination, represents an important step in GOL’s international expansion. The unique combination of paradisiacal beaches, nature and culture is the object of desire for many customers,” said Rafael Araújo, GOL’s executive director of planning.

In addition to Brasilia, the new operation significantly reduces the duration of routes between several Brazilian cities and the Mexican Caribbean, such as São Paulo/Congonhas, Rio de Janeiro/Santos Dumont, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Recife, Belém, Salvador, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, among others.

The airline serves 14 international destinations throughout the Americas, including Bogotá (Colombia), where it began operations at the end of March of this year, San José (Costa Rica), in November, and now Cancun.
