LATAM inaugurates new route between Recife and Santiago de Chile

LATAM Airlines inaugurated this Friday its non-stop flights between Recife and Santiago, its ninth regular route between Brazil and Chile, after São Paulo-Santiago, Brasilia-Santiago, Rio de Janeiro-Santiago, Belo Horizonte-Santiago, Curitiba-Santiago, Florianópolis-Santiago, Fortaleza-Santiago and Porto Alegre-Santiago (to be resumed in January 2025).

The route, which has an average duration of 6 hours 20 minutes, will operate once a week, on Fridays, using A320 aircraft.

Compared to a flight with a connection at São Paulo-Guarulhos or Brasilia airports, the new route reduces the average travel time between the capital of Pernambuco and Chile by three hours.

“LATAM is bringing the world closer to Recife. In addition to Santiago, passengers taking off from Pernambuco can now easily reach Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, as well as other destinations in Chile itself, such as Easter Island, Calama, Punta Arenas and Puerto Montt,” says Eduardo Macedo, LATAM Brazil’s Public Affairs Manager.

The airline also currently offers flights from Recife to 5 domestic destinations in Brazil: Brasilia, São Paulo/Congonhas, Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro/Galeão and São Paulo/Guarulhos).
