Spain’s Air Europa has taken a further step towards personalization and accessibility in its services. Customers booking tickets on its online platform can now leverage advanced technologies to split payments, either among multiple travelers or using multiple credit cards.
Split Payment Technology: More Options, Fewer Barriers
Thanks to the integration of Hands In technology, customers now have two key options:
- Group Payments: This allows the total cost of a booking to be divided among several people, making it ideal for group trips. This functionality also includes the ability to generate personalized payment links. The implementation of this system has achieved a conversion rate of 87.8% when the initial payment is successfully made.
- Multi Card Payments: Travelers can use multiple cards to complete their payment, a practical solution in cases of insufficient funds on one card. This system automatically triggers a pop-up window to facilitate the use of a second card. The conversion rate reaches 95.1% in such cases.
With these options, Air Europa seeks to break down economic barriers and make travel more accessible.

“We are very pleased to have these solutions in our online purchase process. They represent another step in our goal of helping users decide how they want their journey to be”, Yago Casasnovas, Head of Payments, Fraud Prevention, and Distribution at Air Europa said.
Additionally, the company plans to expand these options, soon introducing the ability to combine payments with credit and debit cards as well as PayPal, for both installment and deferred payment methods.
The implemented technology not only improves financial accessibility but also reinforces Air Europa’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
