Turkish Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the world, continues its ambitious global expansion. The airline has announced plans to include new destinations: Minneapolis in the United States and Auckland in New Zealand, reinforcing its position as a leader in global air connectivity.
Strategic New Routes
In April or May of this year, Turkish Airlines will launch flights to Minneapolis, according to its chairman, Ahmet Bolat. Additionally, the airline plans to operate flights to Auckland with a stopover in Singapore. This marks a significant milestone as it would make Turkish Airlines the airline with the largest flight network in the world.

In December, the airline began flights to Santiago de Chile and on January 23 will resume flights to Damascus, Syria.
Expansion in Oceania and Asia-Pacific
Turkish Airlines already operates flights between Istanbul and Melbourne three times a week, with a stopover in Singapore. Additionally, since December, it has been offering four weekly flights to Sydney. Future plans include direct flights to Australia and New Zealand, leveraging new long-haul aircraft such as the Airbus A350-1000.
Turkish Airlines’ expansion into Oceania underscores its commitment to connecting more destinations through its hub in Istanbul. These new flights will not only broaden travel options but also establish the airline as a key player in the global aviation market.
