Avianca announced this Thursday the launch of a new seasonal route that will connect San Salvador, El Salvador, with the city of Chicago in the United States. This non-stop service will be available from June 3 to August 30, 2025.
The airline will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity for 180 passengers, offering 1,080 seats per week on both routes.

Flight schedules:
- San Salvador to Chicago: Departure at 10:25 a.m. and arrival at 4:05 p.m. (local time).
- Chicago to San Salvador: Departure at 5:25 p.m. and arrival at 9:05 p.m. (local time).
“We are tremendously excited to reopen a direct connection with one of the most important economic, cultural, and tourist centers in the United States. We are confident that this route will benefit not only Salvadorans but also travelers from across the Central American region,” said Rolando Damas, Avianca’s Sales Director for North America, Central America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
This launch reaffirms Avianca’s commitment to expanding its route network and offering more destination options to its customers.
