Frontier Airlines to Moves to New York-JFK Airport’s New Terminal 6 in 2026

Frontier Airlines announced this Friday its upcoming transition to the innovative Terminal 6 (T6) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), a world-class facility set to open to passengers in 2026. This move marks a strategic step in the airline’s expansion and the consolidation of its presence at one of the most important airports in the world.

Terminal 6: The JFK Transformation

The new Terminal 6 is a key component of the ambitious modernization plan for JFK, led by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, with an investment of $19 billion. This project includes the construction of two brand-new terminals, the expansion and modernization of two others, an innovative ground transportation center, and a simplified road system.

Frontier Airlines, known for its motto “Low Fares, Done Right” and its efficient fleet of A320neo aircraft, has been steadily growing at JFK. Currently, the airline operates six daily flights from Terminal 7 to destinations such as Atlanta, Orlando, Las Vegas, Tampa, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Starting in the spring of 2025, the airline will expand its offerings with up to four additional flights per day, including new non-stop routes to Miami (March 31, 2025), Dallas Ft. Worth (April 22, 2025), and Los Angeles (May 1, 2025).

“Our customers will enjoy the modern facilities, state-of-the-art technology, and abundant amenities that Terminal 6 will offer,” commented Matthew Sattler, Frontier’s director of airport planning and operations.
