Ryanair Becomes First European Airline to Carry 200 Million Passengers in One Year

Ryanair has achieved a new milestone in the aviation industry by becoming the first European airline to carry over 200 million passengers in a single fiscal year. The Irish company reached 200.2 million passengers by the end of March, meeting previously projected expectations.

Sustained Growth Despite Challenges

Ryanair’s passenger traffic grew by 9% year-on-year, with March being particularly notable as the airline transported 15 million passengers—a 10% increase compared to the same month last year.

However, the company has adjusted its traffic forecast for the next fiscal year. In January, Ryanair revised its projection downward for the second time in three months, reducing its target from 210 million passengers to 206 million. This adjustment is due to delays in Boeing aircraft deliveries, which are limiting the airline’s expansion capacity.

The impact of these delivery delays could affect Ryanair’s operational capabilities in the coming months. Nevertheless, the airline remains committed to its low-cost model and a growth strategy focused on route expansion and fleet optimization.
