Aer Lingus is launching its new direct route between Dublin and Indianapolis, USA, this Saturday. This transatlantic connection is the only non-stop option between the capital of Indiana and Europe, and it is poised to become a key link for both business and leisure travelers.
Indianapolis: A Premier Destination for Sports and Business
The new route will not only provide easier access to one of the most iconic sports destinations in the United States but will also strengthen cultural and commercial ties between the two continents. Indianapolis, renowned for hosting the legendary Indianapolis 500—dubbed “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing”—is also home to iconic venues such as Victory Field, Lucas Oil Stadium, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and the NCAA Hall of Champions.
With a population exceeding 2 million, Indianapolis ranks among the top 30 metropolitan areas in the U.S. Beyond its tourist appeal, the city is a thriving business hub that, until now, lacked a direct connection to Europe.

Aer Lingus Bets on Transatlantic Connectivity
According to Lynne Embleton, CEO of Aer Lingus: “Our mission at Aer Lingus is to strengthen connectivity between North America and Europe. This new direct flight between Indianapolis and Dublin marks a significant milestone for our airline, bringing our total number of transatlantic routes to 24.”
This non-stop service not only links Indiana to Ireland but also opens the door to over 20 additional destinations in the UK and continental Europe, including Paris, London, Frankfurt, Rome, and Amsterdam, thanks to connections via Dublin.
Aer Lingus Joins the Indy 500 Celebration
The launch date of the route strategically coincides with the start of the Indy 500 season, with the 109th edition taking place on May 25, 2025. The event is expected to draw nearly 300,000 fans to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
As part of the celebration, Aer Lingus will sponsor the prestigious Rev Indy event, held at the iconic racetrack on the same night as the inaugural flight. This strategic move aims to firmly position the airline in the U.S. market from day one.
Promotional Fares Starting at €249
Travelers interested in exploring Indianapolis or North America can take advantage of a special launch fare: flights starting at €249 one-way. This promotion is valid for bookings made until May 20, with travel dates available through March 15, 2026.
This new route is not just an expansion of schedules but a statement of intent: Aer Lingus aims to be the most comfortable, direct, and accessible bridge between Europe and the heart of the U.S.
