Aeromexico and Delta Launch New Direct Route Between Mexico City and San Juan, Puerto Rico

The Aeromexico-Delta alliance continues to strongly bet on air expansion between Mexico and the United States. Starting October 29, 2025, Aeromexico will begin operating direct flights between Mexico City and San Juan, Puerto Rico, opening a new gateway to the Caribbean.

Weekly Frequencies

The new route will feature four weekly flights: departures from Mexico City will occur on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 12:00, arriving in San Juan at 18:55. Return flights from Puerto Rico will operate on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, departing at 13:02 and landing in the Mexican capital at 16:15.

During the peak winter season—from December 18 to January 4—the route will operate daily to accommodate high tourist demand.

The service will be covered by Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft, with a capacity for 166 passengers distributed across three classes: 16 seats in Premier Class, 18 in AM Plus, and 132 in Economy. In total, the weekly offering will exceed 1,300 available seats.

A Caribbean Destination with High Tourist Value

For Aeromexico, this new route not only represents operational expansion but also a commitment to destinations with high tourism potential. Giancarlo Mulinelli, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, stated: “We are thrilled to announce our direct route to San Juan, Puerto Rico, a destination renowned for its tropical beauty and vibrant culture.”

Aeroméxico Resumes Direct Route Between Mexico City and Cali, Colombia

Puerto Rico attracts travelers with its hospitality, distinctive cuisine, and world-famous beaches. Sites like Old San Juan, Flamenco Beach, and El Yunque National Forest are just a few of the key attractions that reinforce its status as one of the most sought-after destinations in the Caribbean.

Sustained Growth of the Aeromexico-Delta Network

The San Juan route adds to a series of expansions driven by Aeromexico since 2024. In just one year, the airline has increased its presence in key U.S. cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Washington DC, Tampa, Phoenix, and Philadelphia. San Juan thus becomes Aeromexico’s 27th destination in the United States.

The Aeromexico-Delta alliance already operates over 60 routes between Mexico and the United States, with more than 90 daily flights and over 50 million passengers transported since its inception in 2017.
