Volotea Starts New Flights Between Alicante and Bordeaux, France

The Spanish airline Volotea inaugurated a new exclusive route this Saturday, connecting Alicante with Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport in France. This expansion enhances the airline’s network from the Mediterranean city, offering a direct link to the Aquitaine region—a strategic hub renowned for its tourist appeal, cultural significance, and economic relevance.

Weekly Frequencies and Seat Capacity

The new route will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, providing travelers with greater flexibility for short getaways or extended stays. In total, Volotea has scheduled over 100 flights and will offer more than 19,000 seats on this connection during the season.

Volotea’s Expansion in Alicante

With this new route, the airline increases its total connections from Alicante Airport to six. In addition to Bordeaux, Volotea operates flights to Lyon and Nantes in France; Asturias and Bilbao in Spain; and Luxembourg.

This year, Volotea plans to offer over 251,000 seats from Alicante, marking a 24% increase compared to 2024. This growth underscores the airline’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the region and providing more international connectivity options.

By adding this new connection, Volotea expands its route network and reinforces Alicante’s role as a key tourist hub in the Mediterranean.
