American Airlines is doubling down on in-flight comfort this winter by expanding its exclusive Flagship Suite experience to long-haul routes across three continents. The U.S. carrier announced that its new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, designed with these luxurious suites, will operate flights to London, Buenos Aires, Auckland, and Brisbane, significantly elevating the comfort level for international travelers.
New Routes, More Luxury in the Air
Starting July 7, passengers can book Flagship Suite seats on flights to:
- Dallas Fort Worth — Auckland: Daily service from January 5 to March 28.
- Dallas Fort Worth — Brisbane (BNE): Daily service from October 25 to March 28.
- Dallas Fort Worth — Buenos Aires (EZE): Daily service from October 26 to January 5.
- Dallas Fort Worth — London (LHR): One daily flight from October 26 to January 5, increasing to two daily flights between December 3 and 5.
- Philadelphia — London (LHR): Daily service from October 25 to January 5.
The Dallas-Brisbane and Dallas-Auckland routes stand out as some of the longest operated by the airline. American is the only carrier offering direct connections between these city pairs, providing a key competitive advantage.

Beginning Friday, July 5, the airline will also introduce the Flagship Suite experience on its Chicago — London route.
More Premium Seats, More Connected Destinations
American’s new Boeing 787-9 aircraft are equipped with 51 Flagship Suite seats and 32 Premium Economy seats, offering more options for travelers looking to customize their journey. Thanks to the Dallas hub, passengers from over 230 global destinations can easily connect to Brisbane and Auckland on long-haul flights with high comfort standards.
London remains a key city for American. This winter, the airline will offer up to 1,500 premium seats daily to Heathrow Airport, reinforcing its position as the largest U.S. carrier on this route.
Details That Make the Difference
The Flagship Suite experience goes far beyond a comfortable seat. Passengers enjoy premium rest amenities, including:
- Dual-sided cool-touch technology pillows.
- Premium duvets, plush blankets, slippers, and pajamas.
In Premium Economy and Main Cabin, comfort elements like lumbar pillows and soft blankets have also been added.
Additionally, American announced that by late summer, Flagship Business Class passengers on wide-body flights to East Asia, the Middle East, India, Australia, and New Zealand will receive pajamas and specialty bedding, complementing existing amenities.
Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, emphasized: “We know our customers count down the days to their next vacation, and we’re thrilled to expand Flagship Suite® to new long-haul destinations. This not only adds more premium seats in key markets but also enhances the experience on some of our longest routes.”
The airline has reiterated that these improvements directly address customer feedback, prioritizing rest quality, comfort, and travel personalization.
