China Airlines is expanding its North American network with the launch of a new direct route between Taipei and Phoenix, Arizona, starting December 3, 2025. With this addition, the Taiwanese carrier becomes the first Asian airline to operate flights to this growing U.S. tech hub, which has high demand for corporate travel.
The flights will be operated using Airbus A350-900 aircraft and will offer three weekly frequencies. Departures from Taoyuan will take place on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 10:55, arriving in Phoenix at 08:00 on the same day. Return flights will depart from Phoenix at 11:55, make a stopover in Los Angeles at 12:20, and continue to Taipei, landing at 21:30 the following day.

Phoenix is a key connecting point within the U.S. Thanks to a partnership with Southwest Airlines, China Airlines provides access to over 30 U.S. cities. With interline ticketing and baggage checked through to the final destination, passengers can seamlessly connect without changing terminals, taking advantage of high-frequency flights during peak hours.
Seventh Destination in North America and Growth Plans
China Airlines is strengthening its presence in the Americas, where it began operations over 50 years ago. Phoenix joins its current U.S. destinations—New York, Los Angeles, Ontario, San Francisco, and Seattle—alongside Vancouver in Canada, bringing the total to seven cities with direct flights. Combined, the airline operates 40 weekly round-trip flights to the region.
Additionally, plans are underway to increase flight frequency to New York and begin operations at JFK Airport’s new Terminal One, where cutting-edge technologies will be implemented to enhance the passenger experience starting in 2026.
