Copa Airlines Adds Puerto Plata to Its Route Network in Dominican Republic

Copa Airlines has officially announced the launch of a new route to and from the city of Puerto Plata, located on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, starting January 13, 2026. This addition makes Puerto Plata the fourth destination served by the airline in the Caribbean country, alongside Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, and Santiago de los Caballeros.

Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines, emphasized that this new route, along with the resumption of flights to Santiago de los Caballeros, will enhance connectivity within the country. In his words: “These routes foster cultural and economic exchange, promote tourism and business in both cities, and encourage more visitors to explore Panama through our Panama Stopover program.”

This new route not only expands the airline’s regional network but also strengthens the strategy of consolidating Panama’s hub as a key connection point for the Americas and the Caribbean.

Operational Details of the Route

The new route will operate with a frequency of three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with the following schedules:

Puerto Plata, recognized as a pioneer of tourism in the Dominican Republic, stands out for its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and gastronomy. With this addition, Copa Airlines now serves 91 destinations across 32 countries in Central, South, and North America, as well as the Caribbean. The expansion in the Dominican Republic reflects a strategic commitment to improving regional connectivity and meeting the growing demand for travel in the Caribbean.
