LATAM Also Wants to Fly Between Bogotá and Belém, Brazil: Airline Seeks Authorization to Operate Route

LATAM Airlines has requested approval from Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority to launch a new international connection, offering direct flights between Bogotá and Belém in northern Brazil.

According to documents submitted by the airline, the route would operate with a frequency of four weekly flights. LATAM plans to use Airbus A320 aircraft for the service, indicating a strategy focused on operational efficiency and suitable capacity for a regional medium-haul route.

LATAM Joins the Competition on the Belém Route

If approved, LATAM would become the second airline to operate this route, following Avianca’s announcement of its entry into the same market starting October 27, 2025. This direct competition could benefit travelers with more itinerary options and potentially more competitive prices.

Second Direct LATAM Route Between Bogotá and Brazil

Currently, the airline already connects Bogotá and São Paulo nonstop. The new route to Belém would mark LATAM’s second direct operation between Colombia and Brazil, strengthening its presence in the South American market and expanding connectivity options between the two countries.
