Wingo became the undeniable star of the 2025 Effie Colombia Awards, receiving five nominations and four awards, solidifying its position as the most outstanding airline in this edition. The company earned three gold and one silver award—a result that places it at the forefront of creativity and effectiveness in the aviation industry.
“Hidden Destination”: The Star Campaign
The highest recognition went to “Hidden Destination,” a campaign in which travelers purchased their tickets without knowing their flight destination in advance. This strategy, developed in collaboration with Havas Colombia and supported by partners such as Corona, won three awards:
- Gold in Travel and Tourism
- Gold in Experiential Marketing
- Silver in Marketing Innovation Solutions
The initiative stood out for its ability to generate excitement and offer a unique experience, taking the concept of adventure to a new level in the Colombian airline market.

Real-Time Creativity with the Copa América
In addition to the achievements of “Hidden Destination,” Wingo earned a Gold award in the Real-Time Marketing category thanks to the campaign “There’s a Bet in the Air.” This effort, also in partnership with Havas Colombia and the Argentine airline Flybondi, involved a public wager on the winner of the Copa América final. The strategy successfully captured users’ attention and positioned the brand within the regional sports conversation.
Simon Maya, Marketing and Experience Director at Wingo, celebrated the victory by highlighting the collective effort: “This triumph at the Effie Colombia Awards reflects the courage and creativity with which we seek to inspire our travelers and the entire industry. We are proud to be one of the most awarded brands in this edition and the only airline to achieve this leadership. These awards are a tribute to the creativity and effectiveness of our team, our partner agencies, and the brands that trusted us. And, of course, to the effort of everyone in our operations who make these ideas possible.”
With this recognition, Wingo reaffirms its position as a benchmark for marketing innovation in Colombia and demonstrates that a low-cost airline can lead with disruptive, memorable, and traveler-friendly proposals.
