Aerolíneas Argentinas announced this Wednesday a reinforcement of its connectivity with Brazil for the upcoming southern summer, adding a new destination: Buzios-Cabo Frio, accessible from Buenos Aires and Rosario. Operations will run from January 3rd to April 5th, with two weekly frequencies from Aeroparque and two more from the city of Rosario, scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays on both routes.
Cabo Frio, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, is known for its tourism and gastronomy offerings, as well as its proximity to highly valued destinations for Argentines such as Buzios and Arraial do Cabo. With this addition, the company aims to position itself as a key player in regional travel during the high season.
Increase in Flights to Strategic Destinations
The airline is not only adding a new airport but is also expanding frequencies on traditional routes:
- Buenos Aires – Rio de Janeiro: will reach 35 weekly flights in January, representing 9 additional flights compared to current operations. Córdoba and Rosario will each add 4 weekly frequencies.
- Buenos Aires – Salvador de Bahia: will increase from 6 to 10 weekly flights.
- Buenos Aires – Porto Seguro: will grow from 2 to 3 weekly frequencies.
- Florianópolis: starting in December, 7 flights are offered from Buenos Aires, which will climb to 26 weekly flights in January. Additionally, there will be 5 weekly frequencies from Córdoba and Rosario, and 2 weekly flights from Salta and Tucumán.
This increase responds to the high demand from Argentine travelers for Brazil’s most popular beach destinations during the summer.

Commercial Strategy and Inbound Tourism
The expansion plan is not limited to adding flights. Aerolíneas Argentinas has introduced fares designed to attract international inbound tourism, allowing passengers from abroad to fly to Buenos Aires and add segments to other domestic destinations for just an additional 50 or 100 dollars. This measure encourages tourism in various regions of Argentina.
Promotions and Additional Benefits
Simultaneously, the company has launched specific promotional campaigns on both domestic and international routes, along with competitive financing plans in the local market. In addition, high-value customers enrolled in the Aerolíneas Plus program have access to exclusive mileage benefits.
Through a combination of new routes, increased connectivity, accessible financing, and loyalty programs, Aerolíneas Argentinas aims to solidify its role as a central piece in the country’s tourism development. This comprehensive strategy seeks to capitalize on the high season and strengthen its presence in the region, betting on the sustained growth of the sector.
