Air Canada Announces Expansion of its International Network from Toronto

Air Canada has announced a significant expansion of its international network from its primary hub at Toronto Pearson Airport. Starting in the summer of 2026, the airline will resume non-stop flights to Shanghai and Budapest, in addition to launching new service to Prague, thereby enhancing its connectivity to over 150 destinations across Canada and the world.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo at Air Canada, highlighted: “Our global growth will solidify Toronto Pearson’s position as the leading international hub on the continent. Following the new flights launched this winter to Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Cartagena, and vacation destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean, in 2026 we will resume two flagship routes to Shanghai and Budapest.”

Galardo added that the new Boeing 787-10 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft, scheduled for delivery in the coming years, will initially be based in Toronto. This strategy is designed to boost international trade, generate employment, and expand connectivity opportunities.
