Air Canada announced that it will inaugurate its first route to Palma de Mallorca from Montreal in June 2026, operated with the modern Airbus A321XLR. This will be the first international destination opened thanks to the arrival of these aircraft, deliveries of which will begin in the first quarter of 2026.
Airbus A321XLR, a “Game Changer” for Air Canada
Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Air Canada, emphasized that the incorporation of this model signifies a new stage of international growth: “The imminent arrival of the Airbus A321XLR marks the next phase in Air Canada’s global expansion. This revolutionary narrow-body aircraft allows us to open new destinations, offering an operational range similar to a wide-body with an enhanced onboard product,” he highlighted.
With this move, Air Canada becomes the first Canadian airline to offer direct service to the Spanish island, renowned for its beaches, cultural heritage, and historical richness.
