Delta Air Lines announced an expansion plan at Austin-Bergstrom Airport with the opening of four new nonstop routes to Denver, Miami, Columbus, and Kansas City, in addition to increasing capacity on two existing routes: San Francisco and Indianapolis.
Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning for the airline, emphasized that this move aims to solidify Delta’s position as the leading global carrier in the Texas capital, offering greater convenience and premium experiences.
New Direct Connections
The new flights will begin operating in phases:
- Denver: Starting November 9, 2025, with two daily frequencies operated by Delta Connection and its partner SkyWest.
- Miami: Beginning November 22, 2025, with one daily flight on Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
- Columbus: On June 7, 2026, the first daily service to this Midwestern tech and education hub will launch, also operated by SkyWest.
- Kansas City: Starting the same date, with two daily frequencies, also operated by SkyWest.
The routes to Denver, Columbus, and Kansas City will be served by Embraer 175 aircraft, featuring modern cabins, larger windows, and enhanced comfort across three classes: Delta First, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main.

Increased Frequencies on Key Routes
Delta will also boost service on high-demand routes:
- San Francisco: Effective April 13, 2026, service will increase from one to two daily frequencies using Airbus A319 aircraft.
- Indianapolis: Starting June 7, 2026, the route will expand from one to three daily flights.
Over One Million Passengers in Austin This Year
Delta’s growth in the Texas capital is no coincidence. The airline has already transported over one million passengers in 2025, representing a 12% year-over-year increase.
Additionally, the company will expand its international and leisure offerings with flights to Palm Springs in November and connections to Cancún and Cabo San Lucas in December.
A Long-Term Commitment to Texas
Delta’s growth in Austin is also reflected in the success of its Delta Sky Club, which has been recognized for three consecutive years as the best in customer satisfaction in the U.S. Southern region, thanks to its Texas-inspired design and innovative cocktail menu featuring tequila and mezcal.
In October, the airline will officially open a permanent flight attendant base in Austin, strengthening its operational presence and creating jobs in the region.
