Low-cost airline JetSMART announced this Thursday that starting in January 2026, it will increase its international frequencies from Lima by 66%, establishing the Peruvian capital as one of its most important operational hubs.

More Flights and Greater Capacity from Peru

Currently, the low-cost carrier operates 29 international frequencies connecting Lima with Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Cartagena, Medellin, Quito, in addition to the Trujillo-Santiago route. With the adjustment planned for next year, this number will grow to 48 weekly flights, representing a 60% increase in available seats compared to the last quarter of 2025.

Key Routes Expanding

The main boost will focus on two strategic routes:

  • Lima-Santiago: The offering will double, reinforcing connectivity between Peru and Chile.
  • Lima-Cartagena: This route will regain prominence during the early-year holiday season.

Thanks to this growth, the airline estimates it will transport approximately 213,000 international passengers in the first quarter of 2026.

“This increase in international frequencies reflects the strengthening of our network and our commitment to continue democratizing access to air travel in the region. Similarly, it responds to growing passenger demand and will facilitate tourism, business, and cultural exchange,” said Mayra Sanchez, Commercial Manager of JetSMART in Peru.

Record Figures in 2025 and an Ambitious 2026

So far in 2025, JetSMART has already surpassed 6 million passengers carried on domestic and international routes combined. The expectation is to close the year with sustained growth and begin 2026 with a reinforced offering in the international segment, where the greatest dynamism of the regional air market is concentrated.
