Southwest Airlines Partners with T-Mobile to Offer Free WiFi to All Rapid Rewards Members

Southwest Airlines and T-Mobile have announced an agreement that will benefit millions of passengers. Starting October 24, 2025, all members of the Rapid Rewards loyalty program will enjoy unlimited, complimentary WiFi on every Southwest flight.

This partnership marks the first collaboration between the two companies and establishes Southwest as the largest domestic airline in the U.S. to offer free connectivity across its entire fleet of more than 800 aircraft.

A Strong Step Toward Customer Service Innovation

The announcement was supported by Tony Roach, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer & Brand Officer of Southwest Airlines, who emphasized:

“We are focused on ensuring our passengers have a great experience from the moment they book until they arrive at their destination. We are thrilled to partner with T-Mobile to bring free WiFi to all Rapid Rewards members. It’s part of our commitment to elevating the cabin experience.”

From T-Mobile’s perspective, Mike Katz, President of Marketing, Strategy, and Products, stated: “We’re excited for Rapid Rewards members to enjoy free WiFi from takeoff to landing—no conditions, no surprises. It’s another way we’re making travel easier.”

Bet on In-Flight Connectivity

T-Mobile is no stranger to airborne connectivity: since 2014, it has led the industry by offering complimentary internet to its customers. Now, with this expansion, millions more travelers will be able to stay connected mid-flight.

Southwest, for its part, recently tested free connectivity across its entire fleet with Rapid Rewards members, recording high levels of user satisfaction. The company confirmed that it will continue investing to deliver a reliable, high-performance experience on every journey.

How to Access the Benefit

Access to WiFi does not depend on the passenger’s mobile provider. Simply being a member of Southwest’s loyalty program is sufficient. Customers who do not yet have an account can register for free before their flight or even during the flight and begin browsing at no cost.
