As part of the construction plan that Aeropuertos Argentina is carrying out at the Jorge Newbery Aeroparque in Buenos Aires, a new phase of work has begun in the passenger terminal.
The tasks include the closure of the public corridor on the upper level and the reorganization of the passenger flow within the building, with the goal of optimizing operations and user comfort.
Reorganization of Access and the Security Area
The closure of the public corridor on the first floor is part of the work on the Airport Security Police (PSA) security screening checkpoint (PIR), located at the entrance to the domestic pre-boarding area.
The project involves expanding the existing space, relocating security equipment, and gaining usable square meters to offer more services to passengers.
During the work, new signage was installed and staff assistance was made available to guide users, ensuring normal operational functioning.

Intervention Details
The work covers 800 m² of renovated interior space, plus an additional 100 m² allocated to the Inspection Point Queue area, thus improving operational efficiency.
Key actions carried out include:
- Closure of the public corridor to reorganize passenger flow.
- Relocation of the X-ray machine, allowing the glass partition to be moved further inside the X-ray Inspection Point (PIR).
- Expansion of the pre-boarding area, providing more space and comfort.
- Extension of the PIR sector towards the riverfront, optimizing the use of operational space.
- New exclusive access for suppliers in the area near the South Parking lot, improving internal logistics.
Benefits for Passengers and Operations
These improvements aim to increase capacity and efficiency at the inspection point, in addition to optimizing the flow of passengers and suppliers.
The reorganization of access points also facilitates the transport of supplies for food and beverage outlets and commercial stores, contributing to smoother and more efficient operations.
A More Comfortable and Secure Airport
The comprehensive modernization program underway at Aeroparque aims to enhance the travel experience and reinforce passenger safety and comfort.
With these upgrades, the Buenos Aires airport takes another step towards a more functional, modern, and operational environment, aligned with the international standards the Argentine airport system seeks to achieve.
