Embraer, one of the world’s leading aerospace companies, has inaugurated its new office in India, located at WorldMark 4, Aerocity, New Delhi. The event was attended by the Vice President of Brazil, Geraldo Alckmin; the Minister of Defense, José Mucio; India’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu; and the Ambassador of Brazil to India, Kenneth Felix Haczynski da Nobrega.

The opening of this headquarters represents a key milestone in the relationship between the two countries and reinforces Embraer’s commitment to the Indian market. With this expansion, the company consolidates its long-term commitment to India, strengthening its participation across all its segments: commercial aviation, defense, executive aviation, services and support, and urban air mobility (UAM).

A Strategic Hub to Boost the Indian Aerospace Industry

Embraer’s new office will act as the nerve center for its operations in India, driving growth in corporate and specialized areas such as purchasing, supply chain, and engineering. This strategic investment aligns with the company’s vision to collaborate closely with the local industry, supporting the “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives that promote national self-reliance.

Since its arrival in the country 20 years ago, Embraer has contributed to the development of India’s regional connectivity. In 2005, the first E-Jets began operations, opening new routes and opportunities. Currently, nearly 50 Embraer aircraft of 11 different models operate in India, serving the Indian Air Force, other government agencies, executive jet operators, and the commercial airline Star Air.

Embraer in India: Defense, Commercial Aviation, and Urban Air Mobility

Embraer’s activities in India span multiple sectors:

Defense

The ERJ145 serves as the base platform for the Indian Air Force’s “Netra” Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft. Furthermore, the Legacy 600 is used for the transport of officials and senior personnel by both the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Border Security Force (BSF).

The company is also promoting the C-390 Millennium as the best option for the Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) program.

Commercial Aviation

In this segment, the E-Jets family continues to generate opportunities in tier-two and tier-three cities, strengthening regional connectivity and supporting India’s ambitions to become a global aviation hub.

The airline Star Air, which operates exclusively E175 and ERJ145 aircraft, continues to expand its network across the country.

Urban Air Mobility

Eve Air Mobility, backed by Embraer, is developing strategic partnerships in India to advance sustainable urban air mobility.

Notable initiatives include collaboration with JetSetGo to implement the Vector urban air traffic management software, designed to alleviate congestion and promote sustainable travel.

Concurrently, Eve is collaborating with Hunch Mobility on a study for electric passenger flights in Bangalore, aiming to establish the first regional urban air mobility base with eVTOLs.
