Volotea inaugurated its new connection between Asturias and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport this Friday, a key step in improving the connectivity of northern Spain with the capital.
This new Volotea route responds to the high demand from Asturian passengers and presents itself as an ideal alternative for both weekend getaways and business trips.
The service will operate with four weekly frequencies: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. During the winter season, from December to February, two flights per week will be maintained—on Mondays and Fridays.

Departure times from Asturias will be on Mondays at 07:00, and on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 15:10. From Madrid, flights will depart on Mondays at 08:55 and on the other days at 17:00. The route will continue to operate during the summer season of 2026 as well.
Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s General Director of Strategy, highlighted the importance of this launch: “Our first connection between Asturias and Madrid represents a significant step for Volotea and responds to our commitment to keep improving Asturias’s connectivity and to the long-standing demand from our customers. The schedules have been designed to offer greater flexibility and comfort, making it an excellent option for both business and leisure travel.”
With this new route, the company strengthens its leadership in Asturias, where it is already the airline with the highest number of seats and destinations offered. Currently, Volotea offers 20 connections from Asturias Airport, expanding passenger options and strengthening its route network from the Principality.
