Spanish airline Volotea announced the launch of two new routes that will link Seville-San Pablo Airport with Florence (Italy) and Lille (France) starting in 2026. With these additions, the company is expanding its international network from the Andalusian capital and strengthening its presence in the region.
The connection between Seville and Florence, which will operate from Amerigo Vespucci Airport, will begin in September 2026 with two weekly frequencies, on Mondays and Fridays, offering over 3,000 seats.
Meanwhile, the Seville-Lille route, destined for Lille-Lesquin Airport, will take off in May 2026 and will also have two weekly frequencies, on Thursdays and Sundays, with nearly 7,000 seats available.
Network Expansion from the Andalusian Capital
With these new destinations, Volotea will offer nine routes from Seville:
- Four domestic: Asturias, Bilbao, San Sebastian, and Santander.
- Five international: Bordeaux, Lille, Verona, Florence, and Athens (the latter operated as a codeshare with Aegean Airlines).
The company expects to reach 1.6 million passengers carried from the start of its operations in the city in 2012 by the end of 2025.

Commitment to Growth in Spain
Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s Chief Strategy Officer, highlighted the strategic role of Andalusia in the airline’s expansion plans:
“We are very pleased to continue growing in Andalusia with the launch of these two new routes to Lille and Florence, which bring the total number of destinations Volotea offers from the Hispalis capital to nine. With these additions, we reinforce international connectivity with Italy and France, our main market, and expand travel options for Andalusians. Furthermore, today we are announcing two new routes in Spain: Valencia-Florence and Madrid-Lille, another step within our growth and expansion strategy in the country.”
Outlook for 2026: Increased Capacity and New Opportunities
Globally, Volotea will close the year with an offering of 12.7 million seats across its entire network and expects to reach nearly 14 million in 2026, an increase of close to 10%.
In Spain, the airline will conclude the year with more than 3.6 million seats and plans to increase capacity to 4.2 million in 2026, representing a growth of 16.4%, making the country its largest expansion market.
Currently, Volotea has more than 420 routes, over 50% of which are exclusive, including 135 in Spain, and has carried 11.5 million passengers on approximately 75,000 flights, thereby consolidating its position as one of the fastest-growing European airlines in the regional segment.
