Air Transat Launches Flights Between Toronto and Medellin with a Stopover in Cartagena
Last Saturday, Air Transat inaugurated its flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Medellin, Colombia, with a stopover in Cartagena, marking a milestone in the consolidation of the Canadian airline’s South American network.
This new exclusive connection will operate twice per week year-round on Airbus A321LR aircraft, offering direct access to two of Colombia’s most captivating cities: the coastal jewel of Cartagena and the mountainous metropolis of Medellin.

Sebastian Ponce, Transat’s Director of Revenue, highlighted the strategic value of this new operation: “With this inaugural flight to Medellin, Air Transat is opening a new chapter in its expansion in Latin America. This unprecedented route perfectly illustrates our ambition to broaden the horizons of Canadian travelers and once again demonstrates Air Transat’s pioneering role in leisure travel.”
Furthermore, starting in the summer of 2026, the airline will implement a similar route from Montreal, extending its year-round Montreal-Cartagena flight and adding a direct connection to Medellin.
