Spirit Airlines launched its service to Belize City this Friday, becoming the only airline offering non-stop flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport. The route will operate with three weekly frequencies on Monday, Friday, and Saturday.
With this addition, the airline expands its international network from Fort Lauderdale to 24 destinations, solidifying its position as the carrier with the highest number of international routes from that terminal.
Andrea Lusso, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, highlighted that Belize represents an ideal getaway for those seeking diverse natural landscapes, historical sites, and top-tier water activities. “Adding Belize City to our international map is a big win for our guests, and we thank the airport and the community for the warm welcome to this unique destination,” he stated.

The new operation allows for easy connections from 19 cities within Spirit’s network to Belize. Furthermore, it follows the recent opening of flights to Key West and precedes the launch of the route to Grand Cayman, scheduled for December 4, 2025.
Members of the Free Spirit program can earn 1,500 bonus points on round-trip flights and 750 points on one-way trips to or from Belize City. Bookings must be made by November 29, 2025, and travel must be completed by December 22, 2025. Additionally, those who sign up for the program will receive 500 welcome points.
With this new route, Spirit reinforces its role as a bridge between the United States and tourist destinations in the region. The combination of competitive fares, loyalty promotions, and travel options tailored to different passenger profiles aims to attract both tourists and frequent travelers.
