China Airlines Orders Five Additional Airbus A350-1000 Jets

China Airlines has taken a new step in its growth strategy by confirming a firm order for five additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. With this move, the Taiwanese airline raises its total orders for this model to 15 units. These will join a fleet that already includes 15 A350-900s deployed on its long-haul route network.

The addition of more A350-1000s is part of the company’s modernization plan. According to Kao Shing-Hwang, Chairman of China Airlines, the expansion of this aircraft family represents “another important step” within its long-term growth vision. He further highlighted that the efficiency and comfort offered by the A350 align with the airline’s goals of fleet renewal, strengthening competitiveness on intercontinental flights, and improving the travel experience for customers.

From Airbus, Benoit de Saint-Exupery, Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales, emphasized the value of the relationship between the two companies. The executive noted that this additional order constitutes a “strong vote of confidence” in the A350-1000 as the right aircraft for China Airlines’ future network ambitions, thanks to its next-generation efficiency, range, and cabin comfort.

The A350, a Benchmark in Intercontinental Flight

The Airbus A350 is considered one of the most modern wide-body aircraft in the world. It is designed to fly up to 9,800 nautical miles, equivalent to 18,000 kilometers, non-stop, setting new standards for intercontinental travel. Its development incorporates state-of-the-art technologies and advanced aerodynamics aimed at maximizing operational performance and onboard well-being.

Efficiency and Emission Reduction

Equipped with next-generation Rolls-Royce engines and a structure utilizing lightweight materials, this model offers a 25 percent advantage in fuel consumption, operating costs, and carbon dioxide emissions compared to competing aircraft from previous generations. These factors make it a key choice for airlines seeking economic efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

Airspace Cabin and Passenger Experience

The A350 features the exclusive Airspace cabin, providing passengers and crews with modern entertainment and comfort products designed to offer a more comfortable flying experience on long-duration journeys.

Prepared for Sustainable Fuel Use

Like all Airbus aircraft, the A350 is already capable of operating with up to 50 percent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The European manufacturer aims for all its aircraft to be capable of using up to 100 percent SAF by 2030, thereby reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.
