Lufthansa once again offers its passengers a premium space at Stuttgart Airport starting December 16, 2025, the date it will reopen its lounge following an extensive renovation. The project not only modernizes the facilities but also redefines the experience for frequent flyers and status customers, incorporating a new concept aligned with the airline’s identity and the local character of the capital of Baden-Württemberg.
A Completely Redesigned Space for Different Passenger Profiles
The now modernized and fully renovated area is divided into two exclusive zones: the Business Lounge and the Senator Lounge. Access is granted via an automated, digital control system, which streamlines entry and improves user flow.
Each of these spaces features distinct areas designed to meet specific needs. Passengers can work, read, relax, or enjoy greater privacy in zones specifically designed for each activity. This flexible layout allows visitors to tailor their lounge experience according to the stage of their journey and their personal preferences.
Services Designed for Work, Relaxation, and Enjoyment
The offering is complemented by a wide selection of food and beverages, as well as magazines and newspapers available for visitors. In the case of the Senator Lounge, a distinctive element is added: a coffee bar with a barista, where specialties are prepared on-demand using beans from a local roaster.
This approach aims to elevate the gastronomic experience and strengthen the connection with the region, providing added value that goes beyond the traditional services of a VIP lounge.
Design with Local Identity and Lufthansa DNA
The lounge’s new concept combines the Lufthansa brand universe with the essence of Stuttgart’s environment. Three principles guide the conceptual and architectural approach: dynamic, industrial, and mobile.
These elements are subtly reflected in the interior design through materials, forms, and the staging of the spaces. The result is a clear reference to the local identity, coherently integrated into a facility that maintains the quality standards of the German airline.
Heiko Reitz, Hub Manager Munich and CCO of Lufthansa Airlines, highlighted the importance of this return for regular customers. As he noted, many status passengers missed “their lounge” in Stuttgart during the closure period, so the reopening of the Business Lounge and Senator Lounge, with a renewed concept, represents a particularly anticipated milestone.
Stuttgart, a Key Point in the Lufthansa Group Network
From the airport identified with the code STR, the Lufthansa Group operates flights to more than 60 destinations in 21 countries, primarily through Eurowings and Lufthansa. Furthermore, Austrian Airlines and SWISS, also part of the group, maintain regular operations to Manfred Rommel Airport.
This year, Lufthansa also celebrated its 70th anniversary at Stuttgart Airport, a fact that reinforces the historical and strategic relevance of this base within its European network.
With the lounge reopening, the airline reinforces its commitment to offering a high-level ground experience, adapted to the current expectations of frequent travelers and aligned with the destination’s local identity.
