Copa Airlines Recognized as Latin America’s Most Punctual Airline in 2025: Second Worldwide

Copa Airlines has once again risen to the top of commercial aviation by being recognized, for the eleventh time, as Latin America’s most punctual airline. The recognition was awarded by Cirium, a firm specialized in aviation sector data analysis, through its “On-Time Performance 2025” report, which evaluates the operational performance of the world’s leading airlines.

A Performance That Sets the Standard in the Americas

According to the report, Copa Airlines achieved a punctuality rate of 90.75%, the highest among all airlines in the Americas. This result also placed it as the world’s second most punctual airline, even exceeding the percentage recorded within the global ranking category.

This performance confirms the operational consistency of the Panamanian airline in an increasingly demanding industry environment, where regularity and efficiency have become decisive factors for passengers.

Schedule Adherence and Minimal Cancellation Rate

The “On-Time Performance 2025” study did not limit itself to measuring punctuality. Cirium also analyzed schedule adherence and cancellation rates of the world’s most relevant airlines. In these indicators, Copa Airlines again stood out by recording 99.80% adherence, positioning itself as the airline with the lowest cancellation rate in the Americas and one of the most efficient globally.

These results reflect a stable and reliable operation, supported by processes aimed at reducing interruptions and maintaining service continuity.

The Airline’s Vision: Commitment to the Passenger

Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines, highlighted the importance of this achievement for the company and its customers. He noted that being recognized again by Cirium not only represents operational excellence but also the value that punctuality and reliability hold for passengers. Furthermore, he emphasized that this result is the fruit of the commitment of the airline’s 9,000 employees, focused on offering an on-time, safe, and reliable operation.

An Expanding Network During 2025

During 2025, Copa Airlines maintained its regional leadership in punctuality while operating a solid and reliable network across more than 85 destinations in 32 countries in the Americas. This coverage was expanded with new routes to San Diego, Salta, Tucuman, and Los Cabos, increasing connectivity options for travelers.

This expansion was achieved without compromising the operational indicators that allowed it to reach the top spots in the Cirium ranking.

How Cirium Evaluates Airline Performance

The Cirium ranking analyzes the performance of leading airlines based on variables such as number of seats, number of flights, and available seat kilometers. Companies are classified in global and regional categories, using data collected from over 2,000 international real-time flight sources.

These sources include airlines, airports, global distribution systems, location information, and civil aviation authorities, which adds robustness and accuracy to the report’s results.

A Year Marked by Multiple Recognitions

The recognition as Latin America’s most punctual airline adds to other awards received by Copa Airlines during 2025. These include the distinction as “Best Airline in Central America and the Caribbean” for the tenth consecutive year and the award for “Best Cabin Staff Service in Central America and the Caribbean,” both awarded by Skytrax.

Furthermore, the airline received the APEX Four-Star Airline distinction for 2025 and was recognized as an Honoree in the 2025 Webby Awards for the Copa Airlines App, within the Apps & Software — Travel category.

With these results, Copa Airlines reaffirms its position as one of the region’s operational benchmarks and consolidates its presence among the world’s most reliable airlines.
