Arajet began 2026 with the best operational results in its history. In January, the airline transported 158,688 point-to-point passengers to and from the Dominican Republic, according to official data published by the Civil Aviation Board (JAC).
When including travelers who used its network to connect destinations, the monthly total exceeded 175,000 people—a threshold Arajet has reached for the first time since the start of its operations. This performance reflects not only an increase in volume but also a structural consolidation within the Dominican market.
Operational Performance: Growth with Market Impact
According to the JAC, Arajet positioned itself in January as the fourth airline with the highest passenger volume in the country, trailing only JetBlue, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.
However, the analysis changes when considering connecting passengers. Under that criterion, Arajet ascends to third place in the Dominican market, consolidating its position for the seventh consecutive month among the top three airlines for passenger transport in the country.
Absolute Leadership Among Dominican Airlines
In the national airline segment, Arajet reinforced its dominance with compelling figures. During January, the company transported 91.2% of passengers who flew on Dominican airlines, additionally establishing a historical record for market share.
The remainder of the national market was distributed as follows:
- Sky High Aviation Services: 4.4%
- Air Century: 2.2%
- Red Air: 1.8%
Outlook for the First Quarter of 2026
“2026 started exactly as we expected, with extraordinary numbers in January for both operations and sales. February is also projecting very positive results, so we remain optimistic about the performance of this first quarter of the year. We remain focused on turning the Dominican Republic into the new aviation hub of the continent,” stated Victor Pacheco, founder and CEO of Arajet.
With January as the starting point, 2026 is shaping up to be a decisive year for Arajet’s evolution within the Dominican and regional markets.
