German leisure carrier Condor has announced it will relocate its entire flight operations to the new Terminal 3 (T3) in the summer of 2027. This strategic move, executed in coordination with airport operator Fraport AG (Fraport), aims to modernize the passenger experience and consolidate the airline’s sustainable growth within the German market.
A Strategic Step for German Connectivity
The relocation to T3 aligns with Condor’s 70th anniversary and signals the start of a major infrastructure investment phase, following the recent renewal of its fleet and the evolution of its brand identity.
According to Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor, the modern environment of the new terminal provides the ideal conditions for operational stability and a premium travel experience. This decision not only benefits the airline but also strengthens Frankfurt’s role as Germany’s primary global gateway and a driver of international competitiveness.
Innovation and Technological Efficiency at Terminal 3
Terminal 3 represents one of the most significant privately funded infrastructure projects in European aviation. The building’s design is focused on meeting current demands for quality, capacity, and sustainability.

Condor passengers will benefit from several technological and operational enhancements:
- Streamlined Processes: Implementation of cutting-edge technology from the check-in counters to baggage drop-off.
- Advanced Security: The use of Computed Tomography (CT) scanners at security checkpoints to accelerate passenger throughput.
- Intuitive Design: Short walking distances and clear signage to facilitate transit within the terminal.
- Comfort Zones: Spacious lounge areas in the central marketplace, gate areas, and premium VIP lounges.
Dr. Stefan Schulte, CEO of Fraport, emphasized that the terminal incorporates high environmental standards that support the aviation industry’s goals of transforming toward a more responsible model. The combination of optimized apron connections and digital services will enable more stable and efficient operations starting in 2027.
As the Summer 2027 season approaches, Condor and Fraport are expected to coordinate the final details of the transition to ensure that the move to what will be Europe’s most modern terminal is completed without operational disruptions.
