For the upcoming summer season, spanning from March 29 to October 25, 2026, KLM will operate a comprehensive network of 161 destinations worldwide. This global reach includes:
- 96 destinations within Europe.
- 68 intercontinental destinations.
This configuration provides a clear balance between regional connectivity and long-haul reach, consolidating KLM’s value proposition for both the corporate and leisure segments.
5% Seat Growth: Market-Differentiated Expansion
Compared to the previous season, the airline anticipates a total increase of 5% in seat capacity. This growth is distributed strategically across different markets:
- +6% in European destinations.
- +4% in intercontinental destinations.
The higher momentum in Europe suggests a commitment to reinforcing the density of the short and medium-haul network. Meanwhile, the increase in long-haul operations represents a controlled expansion aligned with structural demand.

New European Destinations
The Summer 2026 season introduces three new European destinations being integrated into the KLM network for the first time:
- Jersey
- Santiago de Compostela
- Oviedo
Increased Frequencies in Europe: Focus on Consolidated Markets
Beyond opening new routes, KLM will increase frequencies to several European destinations with high seasonal demand. Key operational adjustments include:
- Cagliari will feature daily service throughout the entire summer.
- Frequencies will be increased to Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Ljubljana, and Cork.
Intercontinental Expansion: More Flights and Seasonal Continuity
- In the long-haul segment, the airline is also adjusting its operations to bolster strategic markets:
- Additional flights to Cape Town will be added at the start of the season.
- Portland will benefit from daily service all summer long.
- San Diego, Miami, and Hyderabad will be available for the first time during the entire summer season.
- San Jose will be offered as a summer destination for the first time.
KLM’s Summer 2026 schedule reflects a clear strategy: moderate capacity growth, selective network expansion, and the reinforcement of routes with sustained demand.
