Venezuelan carrier Rutaca Airlines officially launched its new route between Caracas and Manaus this Tuesday. This milestone establishes a non-stop link between the Venezuelan capital and one of the Amazon’s primary economic and logistical hubs in Brazil.
The introduction of this service represents a strategic expansion of the company’s international network, bridging two markets with distinct yet complementary commercial and tourism profiles.
Operational Details: Frequency, Fleet, and Schedule
To ensure a focused connectivity strategy that scales with market demand, the route will operate with two weekly frequencies. Rutaca Airlines will deploy Boeing 737 or MD-80 aircraft to service this connection.
Scheduled Itinerary:
- Departure from Caracas: Tuesdays and Saturdays at 23:30, arriving in Manaus at 02:10.
- Return from Manaus: Wednesdays and Sundays at 03:40, landing in Caracas at 06:20.
Expanded Connectivity: The Margarita Factor
A critical operational component of this new route is the seamless connection to Margarita Island, extending the airline’s commercial reach beyond the primary points of origin and destination.
This integration facilitates a Brazil–Caribbean tourism corridor, specifically designed to capture leisure traffic from Northern Brazil toward one of Venezuela’s premier vacation destinations.
With this addition, Rutaca takes a definitive step in growing its international footprint. Its current network includes Havana, Panama City, Bogota, Port of Spain, and Manaus, with service to Boa Vista set to commence on February 26.
