AerCap Holdings, the world’s largest aircraft lessor, has announced a firm order with Airbus for the acquisition of 100 additional A320neo Family aircraft.
Agreement Details and Fleet Composition
This new contract represents the largest single direct order for this aircraft type placed by AerCap with Airbus to date. The model selection breaks down as follows:
- 77 Airbus A321neo
- 23 Airbus A320neo
This investment underscores AerCap’s strategy of investing in the most in-demand, fuel-efficient technology designed to meet the long-term operational requirements of its global customer base.

Aengus Kelly, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AerCap, highlighted that this order reflects a firm conviction in the sustained demand for highly efficient aircraft. According to the executive, the transaction will address both airline growth requirements and the replacement of aging fleets.

The A320 Family continues to solidify its position as the world’s most popular single-aisle aircraft, accumulating more than 19,000 orders worldwide. Its success is built upon technical pillars and passenger experience:
- Fuel Savings: Offers at least a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) emissions compared to previous generations.
- Passenger Comfort: Features one of the widest single-aisle cabins in the industry, maximizing onboard space and comfort.
