Cathay Pacific Launches New Direct Route Between Hong Kong and Seattle

Cathay Pacific inaugurated its direct service between Hong Kong and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport this Monday, operating five weekly frequencies. This new connection strengthens the airline’s presence in North America and consolidates Hong Kong as a strategic hub for global trade and tourism.

Strategic Expansion in North America

With the start of operations to Seattle, Cathay Pacific expands its North American passenger network to a total of nine cities. This route represents the only direct connection available between Washington State and the airline’s primary Asian hub.

During the summer season, the carrier will operate nearly 120 round-trip flights per week in the region, covering key destinations such as:

Impact on the Logistics and Cargo Sector

In addition to passenger transport, the new route boosts the capabilities of Cathay Cargo. The belly-hold capacity of the passenger aircraft will complement the nearly 40 weekly freighter flights that the logistics division operates to North America during peak seasonal demand.

This enhanced connectivity not only benefits business and leisure travelers but also reinforces the ties between two global hubs of innovation, culture, and entrepreneurship, ensuring an efficient flow of goods and people across a network that now exceeds 100 destinations worldwide.
