The German carrier Condor inaugurated its new route between Frankfurt Airport and London Gatwick Airport this Wednesday. This connection, operated with three daily frequencies, aims to capture both corporate and leisure traffic in one of Europe’s most dynamic aerial corridors.
Frequency and Capacity: A Focus on Business and Leisure Flexibility
The new operation between Frankfurt and London has been designed to offer maximum versatility to passengers. The airline seeks to position itself as a solid alternative to the competition, leveraging a schedule structure that allows for same-day return trips.
Fleet Details and Configuration
To serve this route, Condor utilizes Airbus A320 aircraft, which feature the following specifications:
- Capacity: 180 seats available.
- Cabin Configuration: Two classes of service, including Business Class and Economy Class.
Furthermore, the company has confirmed that it maintains cooperation agreements with partner airlines on this route to strengthen passenger connectivity.

Strategic Importance and Global Connectivity
The inclusion of London Gatwick not only bolsters Condor’s presence in the European market but also serves as a key feeder for its long-haul network.
David Carlisle, Director of Network and Alliances at Condor, highlighted that London is one of the most in-demand destinations in Europe. According to Carlisle, the three daily frequencies do not just provide local flexibility; they also facilitate access for British passengers to the airline’s long-haul flight network toward destinations in Africa and Asia.
For his part, Jonny Macneal, Head of Aviation Development at London Gatwick, noted that Condor’s arrival represents a milestone in the airport’s growth period, offering greater options for those traveling for business, leisure, or visiting family and friends (VFR).
Continued Expansion of Condor’s European Network
The launch of the London route is only the beginning of an aggressive expansion phase for the German airline. Starting in May, Condor will add three key destinations to its portfolio:
- Barcelona
- Budapest
- Venice
With these additions, Condor’s network of city destinations will rise to a total of 13, consolidating its presence in high-growth markets and strengthening its competitiveness within the European continent.
