ITA Airways Expands Asian Presence with Increased Flights to Bangkok and New Delhi

ITA Airways has announced a strategic increase in its flight frequencies to India and Thailand for the Summer 2026 season. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for direct connectivity between Italy and the most dynamic markets in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent.

Strengthening Intercontinental Connectivity for Summer 2026

In response to the surge in travel demand during the peak summer period, the Italian flag carrier will bolster operations from its primary hub at Rome-Fiumicino Airport. This decision reaffirms the company’s commitment to its intercontinental expansion, providing passengers with more direct and frequent travel options toward the East.

The capacity deployment will focus specifically on August 2026, facilitating both tourist flows and business travel.

Frequency Increase: Bangkok and Delhi Routes

The airline will adjust its offering on two of its most significant Asian routes as follows:

This capacity boost not only benefits travelers originating in Italy but also enables passengers from Thailand and India to connect, via Rome, with the company’s global network and its partners across Europe, Africa, North America, and South America.

According to Joerg Eberhart, CEO and General Manager of ITA Airways, this expansion is a concrete sign of confidence in the current market. Eberhart highlighted that, within a complex geopolitical landscape, offering direct and reliable connections to Asia provides a fundamental added value for the airline.

The strategy aims to deliver greater operational reliability and a wider range of options for customers to plan their trips to destinations that rank among the most vibrant on the Asian continent.

Tickets for these new frequencies are already available through the company’s official channels, including its website, mobile application, and authorized sales offices.
