Aer Lingus Launches Direct Flights Between Dublin and Pittsburgh

Aer Lingus inaugurated its first direct flight between Dublin and Pittsburgh International Airport in Pennsylvania on Monday. This new connection not only expands the airline’s footprint in the United States but also strengthens its hub strategy in the Irish capital, streamlining passenger traffic between North America and Europe.

Reid Moody, Chief Strategy and Planning Officer at Aer Lingus, highlighted the significance of the launch: “Our new service to Pittsburgh elevates the Aer Lingus North American network to 24 routes from Ireland. This route strengthens our Dublin hub and provides seamless connectivity between North America, Ireland, the UK, and Europe, while supporting tourism, business, and cultural ties between Ireland and Pennsylvania.”

Frequencies and Transatlantic Connectivity

The new route will operate with a frequency of four weekly flights. The service is operated utilizing Airbus A321LR aircraft—a highly efficient, single-aisle model designed to cover transatlantic routes while optimizing operating costs and reducing emissions.
