The civil aviation sector in Brazil has once again demonstrated its resilience, moving 10.2 million passengers during the month of April 2026. This figure represents a 1.8% growth compared to the same period in 2025, consolidating an upward trend according to the latest demand and supply report released by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).

Domestic and International Market Performance

The statistical report reveals a positive performance across both domestic routes and international connections, driven by distinct growth dynamics:

  • Domestic Market: Airlines transported 8 million travelers within the country, equivalent to a 1.1% increase compared to April of the previous year.
  • International Market: The cross-border segment showed even greater momentum, registering 2,2 million passengers—a 4.3% expansion against the figures from the same month in 2025.

Supply and Demand: Analyzing RPK and ASK Indicators

When analyzing the industry’s key operational metrics, the consolidated balance between both markets reflects a steady equilibrium in the capacity managed by air carriers.

Demand

The Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK) indicator—which measures demand by multiplying paying passengers by kilometers flown—experienced a global increase of 1.8%.

  • In the domestic sector, demand growth reached 2.4%.
  • In the international arena, RPK rose by 1.3%.

Supply

Meanwhile, Available Seat Kilometers (ASK)—a metric evaluating capacity by calculating available seats multiplied by kilometers flown—registered an overall positive variance of 1.6%.

  • The domestic segment experienced a robust expansion in capacity, with a 4.4% increase.
  • Conversely, the international sector reported a slight contraction of 0.4% in seat supply.

Logistics Sector Maintains Upward Momentum

The transport of goods and supplies also mirrored the aviation industry’s overall growth trend. During April, a total of 115.3 thousand metric tons of cargo were processed, marking a 4.3% increase over the same month last year.

The breakdown of air cargo activity was structured as follows:

  • Domestic Cargo: 37.6 thousand metric tons were processed, reflecting a 4.8% rebound compared to April 2025.
  • International Cargo: Logistics movement to and from abroad reached 77.7 thousand metric tons, standing 4% above the previous year’s records.

The official results updated by ANAC for April 2026 confirm that civil aviation remains on a path of sustained progress.
