Brazilian airframer Embraer has reported a historic start to 2026. The company achieved unprecedented revenue for a first quarter, driven primarily by the solid performance of its Defense & Security and Commercial Aviation divisions, consolidating its profitability and operational efficiency.
A Quarter of Financial and Operational Milestones
During the first quarter of 2026 (1Q26), Embraer reached revenues of $1.4 billion, representing a 31% year-on-year increase. This historic result was supported by strong discipline in cost management and production efficiency.

Regarding net profitability, the figures showed some operational variations:

Firm Commitment to Investment and Development
Embraer continued to accelerate its development and innovation programs. The company allocated $98.8 million to investments during the quarter, exceeding the $88.2 million reported in the same period of 2025. When including the resources injected into its urban air mobility subsidiary, Eve, total investment rose to $148.6 million, up from $124.5 million the previous year.
Outstanding Performance by Business Units
The company’s growth was widespread, with significant contributions from all operational areas:
- Defense & Security: This was the star division of the quarter, generating $227 million in revenue, representing a spectacular 63% year-on-year increase. This performance was driven by higher revenue recognition from the KC-390 military transport aircraft—attributable to the customer mix and product phase—as well as an increase in production rates for the A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft. The division’s gross margin jumped from 12.3% to 26.8% year-on-year, while its adjusted EBIT margin moved from negative territory at -1.6% to a solid 17% year-on-year, benefiting from positive extraordinary items.
- Commercial Aviation: Recorded a turnover of $293 million, a 45% year-on-year growth, driven by higher delivery volumes and an improved pricing strategy.
- Executive Jets: Reached revenues of $418 million, 30% higher than 1Q25, thanks to increased delivery volume and a more favorable product mix.
- Services & Support: Led in total revenue volume with $490 million (a 15% year-on-year rise), supported by strong demand across all segments, especially in services associated with Defense & Security.
Deliveries on the Rise and Backlog at Historic Highs
The production leveling plan implemented by the Brazilian manufacturer is yielding visible results. Embraer completed the delivery of 44 aircraft in the first quarter of 2026, representing a notable 47% increase compared to the 30 aircraft delivered in the same period last year.
This operational pace is accompanied by unprecedented commercial backing. The company’s firm order backlog reached $32.1 billion, marking a 22% year-on-year increase. This milestone represents the sixth consecutive all-time record for Embraer’s backlog, guaranteeing a steady workflow for the coming years.
Embraer’s historic performance at the start of 2026 confirms the effectiveness of its supply chain stabilization strategy and the strong global demand for its product portfolio, both civil and military.
