JetBlue has announced an ambitious expansion plan at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, featuring the launch of 11 new destinations and a significant increase in flight frequencies. This strategy aims to bolster connectivity in South Florida following the cessation of operations by Spirit Airlines, complemented by a “Status Match” offer designed to capture the carrier’s frequent flyers.
Historic Growth in Fort Lauderdale
The airline projects operating nearly 130 daily departures from Fort Lauderdale during the summer of 2026. This figure represents the largest operation in JetBlue’s history at the airport and constitutes an increase of over 75% in daily flights compared to 2025 records.
Marty St. George, President of JetBlue, emphasized that the priority is to ensure air service availability in this key market, making it easier for customers to maintain their personal and professional connections while upholding the company’s standards of comfort and value.
New Routes and Destination Details
The expansion includes entry into cities where JetBlue previously lacked a presence from FLL, as well as the strengthening of existing routes to the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Loyalty Strategy: Status Match for Spirit Members
As part of its commercial offensive, JetBlue has enabled a status match process for Free Spirit Silver and Gold members. This initiative allows travelers affected by Spirit Airlines’ exit to retain their loyalty benefits by migrating to the TrueBlue Mosaic program.
- Free Spirit Silver may request Mosaic 1 status.
- Free Spirit Gold may apply for Mosaic 2 status.
This limited-time offer seeks to provide a seamless path for Spirit customers to access the advantages of the TrueBlue program, which includes expanded options for earning points and unlocking exclusive benefits across the airline’s network.
With this deployment, JetBlue reaffirms its position as the largest carrier in Fort Lauderdale. The expansion not only guarantees the continuity of non-stop flights for South Florida residents but also leverages existing infrastructure and flight crews to consolidate Fort Lauderdale as a primary hub for leisure, business, and tourism travel toward the Caribbean and Latin America.
