Air Europa has launched two new domestic routes from its main hub at Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport to Oviedo and Seville. This expansion is complemented by a strategic capacity increase on its international operations to Rome and Milan, consolidating its presence in key markets and enhancing connectivity across its short and long-haul network.
Expansion in the Domestic and Corporate Markets: Oviedo and Seville
The airline has commenced operations to Oviedo (Asturias) and Seville (Andalusia) with the aim of strengthening peninsular connectivity. Both routes are integrated into the carrier’s global growth strategy and are tailored to cater to both business and leisure travelers.
Operations in these markets will be structured as follows:
- Frequency: The airline will operate two daily flights on each route.
- Aircraft Deployment: The sectors will be operated using the Boeing 737 fleet, ensuring operational efficiency and a standard of comfort ideal for short-haul routes.
- Annual Capacity: The carrier will schedule over 850 annual flights per route, translating into an offering of more than 153,000 seats per year for each destination.

Consolidation in Italy: Increased Frequencies and a New Summer Route
The Italian market represents one of the core pillars of international growth for Air Europa. Effective today, the company is permanently increasing its operations to Rome and Milan to three daily frequencies.
This frequency boost aims to provide greater scheduling flexibility for same-day return travel. Furthermore, it optimizes connection times at the Madrid hub for passengers arriving from Italy and connecting to the airline’s long-haul network.
As part of this reinforcement in the transalpine country, Air Europa has confirmed that it will add a new seasonal route to the historic city of Bologna during the month of August.
Air Europa ON Plan: Upgrading the Inflight Experience
In tandem with its network expansion, the carrier has rolled out the “Air Europa ON” plan—a comprehensive strategy aimed at optimizing the customer experience both on the ground and inflight through three main pillars:
Connectivity
A highly significant upgrade has been introduced to the satellite-based inflight Wi-Fi service, allowing passengers to enjoy faster and more stable browsing throughout the flight.
Business Class
The premium cabin product on medium-haul routes has been upgraded to include:
- New passenger comfort amenities.
- An updated beverage menu.
- A refreshed gastronomic offering curated by renowned chef Mario Sandoval.
With the launch of the Seville and Oviedo routes, increased frequencies to Italy, and the upcoming addition of Bologna this summer, Air Europa is accelerating its strategic growth plan.
